Some dreams are just too good to pass up—especially when you’ve grown up in Florida dreaming of becoming a Disney Imagineer. That’s exactly the story for Richard Meyer, who joined InflexionPoint (IxP) as a Principal Control Systems Engineer in September 2023. When Disney came calling in December 2024 with a six-month contract, Richard knew he had to follow that childhood dream.

But not all dreams turn out the way you expect. While Disney delivered the magic, Richard quickly realized what he missed most was the diversity of challenges he’d left behind. “At InflexionPoint, I thrived on the variety—working across industries, facilities, and customers,” he said. “That exposure pushed me to grow and think differently every day. I missed that more than I expected.”

Now back with IxP, Richard’s next chapter is all about unlocking the power of AI in real-world industrial settings. He’s diving into privacy-focused, human-in-the-loop AI workflows to accelerate documentation and source code development for industrial automation. He’s also bringing deep expertise in deploying localized AI infrastructure and digitalization through IIoT technologies like OPC-UA, MQTT SparkplugB, and Grafana dashboards.
